Households’ financial wealth in six European countries
Using the financial balance sheet of national accounting system, it is possible to take an inventory of all economic assets and liabilities held by households. Here, the households sector includes private individuals, individual entrepreneurs and non-profit institutions serving households (S14 and S15). The wealth is composed of non-financial (housing investments, lands) and financial assets (deposits, securities and life insurance, etc…). All assets and liabilities are recorded at the year-end market value, which includes unrealized capital gains or losses for each asset class.
You will find below the households’ financial wealth per inhabitants in six European countries (France, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Belgium and Germany), more specifically its structure and its level.
